How LiveData Works

Create Your Account

Sign up at wearelive.ng/register. Each account gets its own isolated workspace — your layers, assets, and data are completely private.

If your team lead invited you via email, click the invite link to join their workspace directly. You'll set a password and gain access to their layers automatically.

Create a Layer

Inside your workspace, click Add Layer and choose an overlay type:

• Leaderboard — Live standings with team logos, scores, and dynamic columns fed from Google Sheets or JSON
• Timeline — Event stages, match progress, or milestone tracking with image-based slots
• Lower Third — Animated name plates with 4 premium templates, zone control, and entry picker
• Ticker — Scrolling text banner with configurable speed, font, and live data source
• Name Card — Presenter or player card with headshot, title, and organisation
• Logo Bug — Persistent corner watermark or sponsor logo with adjustable position and size
• Data Board — Live stat panels with labels and values driven from Google Sheets
• Scoreboard — Head-to-head score display with team logos and custom fonts
• After Effect — Lottie JSON animation playback for complex broadcast motion graphics (beta)
• Social Comments — Push live viewer comments on screen from a manual queue, Google Sheet Q&A, or YouTube Live Chat

Give your layer a name — this forms part of the browser source URL.

Enter or Import Your Data

You have several ways to feed data into your layer:

• Paste JSON directly — ideal for esports stats, tournament data, or any structured dataset
• Import from Google Sheets — paste your sheet URL and LiveData fetches the data automatically
• Manual entry — type values in directly for simple, low-update overlays
• Comment queue — for Social Comment layers, queue entries manually, pull from a Google Sheet Q&A bank, or fetch from YouTube Live Chat

Google Sheets data refreshes automatically — your producer can update the sheet during a broadcast and the overlay updates live on air.

Style Your Overlay

Use the Style panel to customise every visual property of your overlay:

• Background colour, opacity, and blur
• Border colour, width, and corner radius
• Font size, weight, and colour per column
• Row height, padding, and alternating row colours
• Column widths and alignment
• Drop shadows and glow effects

All changes preview in real time in the overlay editor.

Copy Your Browser Source URL

Every layer has a unique, permanent URL. It looks like this:

This URL always renders a transparent background overlay — it's designed specifically to be used as a browser source in your broadcast software.

Add to OBS, vMix, or H2R

In your broadcast software, add a Browser Source and paste your LiveData URL.

OBS Studio:

• Sources panel → + → Browser Source
• Paste your URL · Set width/height to match your canvas (e.g. 1920×1080)
• Tick "Shutdown source when not visible" for performance

vMix:

• Add Input → Web Browser → paste URL
• Set resolution to 1920×1080 (or your output resolution)

H2R Graphics:

• Add a Web Layer → paste URL
• Enable transparent background

Go Live — Data Updates Automatically

Your overlay is now live. When your data changes (Google Sheet update, JSON re-paste, or manual edit), the overlay polls for new data and refreshes automatically — no need to restart OBS or update the browser source.

Polling interval is approximately every 5–10 seconds for data overlays. Social Comment overlays poll every 2 seconds so viewer comments appear on screen almost instantly after you push them from the editor.
